Marble stains are drawn out with a poultice — slowly, and never scrubbed.

Marble is porous. Liquids wick in and sit below the surface, which is why surface cleaning does nothing.
Consistent, material-appropriate care is the single biggest factor in how long furniture and mattresses stay comfortable and beautiful. In Florida, humidity, salt air, and UV compound quickly — a small monthly routine prevents years of avoidable wear.
- Identify the stain type first
- Poultice, cover, wait
- Reseal after any stain removal
- Color looks flat, patchy, or dusty even after a quick wipe
- New creaks, wobbles, or loose fasteners
- A faint musty smell after closed-up periods
- Fabric or leather feels stiff, tacky, or unusually dry
- Seal annually
- Coasters and trays under oils and wine
- Blot spills immediately
- 1Vacuum or dust with a soft brush attachment to remove grit first.
- 2Spot-test any cleaner on a hidden area and wait 10 minutes.
- 3Work in small sections with a barely-damp microfiber, blotting outward.
- 4Rinse residue with a clean damp cloth, then dry with a fresh microfiber.
- 5Allow to fully air-dry away from direct sun before use.
Identify the stain type first
Oil-based stains darken the stone; organic stains (coffee, wine) tint it brown or pink. Each needs a different poultice.
Poultice, cover, wait
Mix baking soda with the appropriate liquid to a peanut-butter paste, apply quarter-inch thick, tape plastic over it, wait 24–48 hours.
Reseal after any stain removal
Poulticing pulls the sealer out with the stain. Test with a water drop and reseal if it soaks in.

- Wipe high-contact surfaces with a dry microfiber
- Vacuum thoroughly including under and behind
- Check for loose hardware or joints
- Deep clean using material-appropriate cleaner
- Rotate cushions or accessories to even wear
- Professional deep clean or conditioning if applicable
- Full inspection, tighten fasteners, refresh protection
- Humidity slows poultice drying — allow extra time and airflow.
