- 5Allow to fully air-dry away from direct sun before use.
Test whether it is lacquered
Lacquered brass must not be polished — polish clouds the coating. A hidden test spot tells you in seconds.
Living finishes are supposed to change
Unlacquered brass and bronze patina intentionally. Decide whether you want bright or aged before you start.
Wax preserves the result
A thin paste wax after polishing triples the time before tarnish returns.
